One of London's most iconic venues, the Astoria, played by Britney Spears to Kylie Minogue, has announced that celebrated venue closes its doors for good on the 15th January 2009. Ibiza's Manumission club will host its final night, where "anything goes".

The Astoria is set to close for good on January 15, in order to make way for the new Crossrail railway project. Another London venue, Metro, is also set to close as a result of the building developments.

The full line-up for 'Manumission Comes To London' will not be announced until the new year but it will feature a fusion of rock and dance acts. After playing the Astoria's closing night, Manumission is set to start a world tour of clubs. The night at the Astoria marks the first time in 15 years that Manumission has returned to England.
