Electric Picnic has won two very special awards in the Irish Festival Awards announced on Friday: Best Large Festival and Greenest Festival.

Electric Picnic 2009 saw Orbital, The Flaming Lips, Brian Wilson, Basement Jaxx, Madness, Klaxons, Bell X1, Fleet Foxes and MGMT appearing, whilst Tommy Tiernan headlined the comedy tent.

More than 15,000 Irish music fans and gig-goers cast their votes in the 100% publicly-voted 2009 Irish Festival Awards.  The winners were revealed last night in the Sugar Club, Dublin.

Electric Picnic will be parading back into Stradbally once again next September 3rd, 4th & 5th with all the usual suspects and more, adorned in all their festival finery. The hottest bands, the brightest minds, the most devilish comedians. A unique combination of energy and sparkle, other worldliness and circus pizzazz..
